The CoRe Programme encourages all young people to adhere to all safety protocols to stay safe during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.

What is COVID-19?

Coronaviruses are a large group of viruses that are common among animals. In rare cases, they are what scientists call zoonotic, meaning they can be transmitted from animals to humans, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It is a dangerous disease with incubation period between 4-6 days. It is fatal especially for those with weakened immune system, the elderly and the very young. Symptoms of COVID-19

Cough

Shortness of Breath

Fever

Chills

Runny nose or new nasal congestion

Muscle pain

Headache

Sore throat

Gastrointestinal symptoms

Like nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea

New loss of taste or smell

PREVENTION TIPS

HANDWASHING

Wash your hands regularly with soap under running water for 20 seconds.



Use alcohol-based hand sanitiser that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

Wash/sanitise your hands frequently, including when entering common areas, and while using shared workspaces.

PREVENTION TIPS

WEAR A MASK

Always wear a mask when you are out as it serves as an effective tool to protect against the spread of the virus, especially by asymptomatic individuals.

Cough and sneeze on your elbow when not wearing a mask.



Please wash or sanitise your hands prior to handling your mask.

Wash your cloth mask after each daily use.

PREVENTION TIPS

PRACTICE PHYSICAL/SOCIAL DISTANCING

Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.

Do not gather in groups.

Stay out of crowded spaces and avoid mass gatherings

CLEAN YOUR WORKSTATION

Clean commonly used surfaces in personal and shared spaces: keypads, coffee makers, printers, anything with a handle, phones, etc.

Clean commonly used devices in personal and shared spaces.
